I see us gaining about 9-10 points with the remaining games of the season which in theory would take us past the magical 40 point barrier. Which I believe will be enough to stay up and let us consolidate are place in the Premier league for 2 seasons running.

But we could already be safe by now if we would of had a bit of luck as well as stop shooting ourselves in the foot. Firstly and the most annoying thing for all Sunderland fans this season was the draw with Newcastle United, when Steven Taylor clearly dived to gain his team a penalty which everybody noticed was except the referee which allowed them to earn a draw.

Also last week against Manchester City with the sending off of George McCartney yes it was a foul but Shaun Wright-Phillips was never going to reach the ball, plus Marton Fulop had the ball in his hands.

There are so many examples of this through out the season buck luck is how you make it and soon some will come our way.

But it not all bad luck a bad referee decisions, because I don’t want to sound like a typical football fan, we have brought some of this trouble on ourselves but letting in last minute goals such as the draw at Spurs or the last minute header from, Cesc Fabregas or not playing to whistle when Wigan beat us.

Cisse and Jones have been pretty good until the last few weeks but there was always going to be a dry spell. If we Cisse next season I think their partnership up font will develop all we need to do is sure up out defense and hopefully bring through a few youngsters like Henderson or Waghorn.

Next season will push on to the top half of the table I think taking 8th or 9th as long as we buy correctly.

The main thing that came to mind after I watched Rec was firstly the difference in run time Rec is a 75 minute adrenaline filled survival horror.  But Quarantine’s run time is 89 minutes which obviously means that, Andale Pictures thought the film needed added scenes of gore and getting to know the characters even more.  By adding this though it makes the film feel squashed and rushed and even though the original film is shorter the story makes a lot more sense.

This proves that Hollywood and re-makers think that more is better but they had to really add something or it would have been just a remake of the film but with American actors which seems like a lot more work than just reading subtitles but some people are just lazy and it would make the film apply to a wider audience.

What else is there to say they are pretty much the same film but with added scenes Quarantine lost some of the intensity and fast paced action that Rec had.  I appreciate the gore factor but it didn’t help the film along it just distanced the audience from the piece I feel as it was over the top.

This comes as a suprise move, as many were lead to believe his next film to direct would be his horror creation known as Red State.  But in my view this may be his best option to show people he can branch out even more and create a larger fan base after the surprise flop of ‘Zack and Miri’.

The film he is set to create is called ‘A Couple of Cops’ set to be released in 2010 and Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan have confirmed themselves to the project.

The piece has been written by the Cullen Brothers, Mark and Robb, they have been responsible for writing  episodes and producing American TV hits such as The Heist and Las Vegas.  It is their first venture on to the big screen their idea focuses around two ‘cops’ dealing with trivial jobs until they encounter gangsters and laundered money.

Smith has previously worked with the brothers on a pilot show which failed to aired called ‘Manchild’.  Smith was an actor on this remake of a British show.

I believe that this film will be a massive hit, as everybody loves Bruce Willis and with Tracy Morgan and his following on 30 Rock. I believe the major factor being that Kevin Smith did not write it, will mean hopefully people will not judge the film before they see it. The film will also benefit from the the die hard Kevin Smith fans.

1 you do not own a hard copy of the music you have brought. 2 a CD comes with the advantages of artwork and showing music to your friends easier. 3 it is harder for people to figure out the copyright to a song and how to play a song on the radio such as the community radio station at my university (Lincoln)

But ITunes is first of all in general is cheaper then most music stores with most albums starting at £7.99 with lots of albums being cheaper than £5.  Secondly ITunes has the advantage of being internet and download based meaning that you dont have to go into the town or city near you to buy an album or two.  Thirdly ITunes has the major selling point of having a massive collection of music from all genres and types of bands local or world famous in one place more than any music shop so in general you shouldn’t be disappointed except for the big name that is The Beatles.

Downloading music in general has helped the development of new bands by letting themselves put their work out to a larger auidence by sometimes offering free downloads on websites like Myspace, NME or ITunes artist of the week

Downloading music also means there is better quality of music being bought to people because there is no CD to wreck or scratched it is just a digital copy you can back up.

It was taken to the Sundance film festival where it received plenty of mixed reviews but mainly snubbed by many people who did not seem to get it.

It is one of the great love-hate films showing the gap in the generations of audiences, it grasps the YouTube generation with all of the detailed animation and array of colours and firework explosions mixed in.  The way it divides the gap even more is the music used a lot of it is 8bit dance music is used, which is created by the director himself.  Many of the young viewers would relate to such hit artists as Crystal Castles.

The film it self features round two characters one named Blue (Japanese Anime) and Emmm (Stop Motion) on their quest for ice cream in a digital nightmare world.  The film is visually stunning with all forms of animation fitting together flawlessly and scenes being filled with colourful explosions.  The music fits every scene whether it be emotional or banging 8bit Dance and finally with the type of audience this film brought in, most of the audience will see his inspirations from games of the Nintendo generation with backgrounds mimicing games etc.

Overall I loved this film but I can see why some people would loath it as they can’t realte to the piece.

I think it depends on when you were born and the era you were born into. Because what I consider retro is anything in the 80′s or earlier. I think what people consider retro is anything that happened before they were born which for me would be anything created before 1989. An example of this would be the Super Nintendo. I grew up with one of this but somebody younger than me would consider retro where as I would just say it was part of my life when I was younger.

The idea that retro is just something that is so old and out of fashion its cool is true, but no one can actually decide what retro truly is because fashion goes round in circles and what is retro now will be unretro in a few years.

I think the reason why people love the idea of retro is that it makes you stand out in a crowd and makes them look an indivdual.

The problem is with the internet people can buy ‘retro’ items from different times from all around the world with sites like ebay. This is making retro mainstream instead of a minority fashion statement.

The great thing about retro is how it influences everything such as movies and films. Retro films and music will never drop out of fashion because if it was good then and are still talking about now then it is worthy of it’s stature in own right.

The great thing about retro is that what is held as great today will prove it’s worth by being around still in 20-30 years and influencing all types of artist in the future. As well as taking us back to memories we had with the particular thing whether it be clothing, film, art, music, games etc.

What will be weird is when we grow up and the new generation comes along, what we hold as the present such as music or like me writing this blog on my iPhone will be considered old and maybe just maybe retro
